I approach each of my students as a unique person with their own goals and learning styles.  In lessons, students and I develop an individualized curriculum which will meet that student's musical goals and prepare them to take on the challenges and opportunities which may come up for them in their musical studies and career.

Through the medium of musical studies and percussion techniques, I view our lessons as a means to help students develop their abilities to practice and prepare personal responsibilities, set long- and short-term goals, and to explore decision making in the creative process.

Lessons with me can span a wide variety of instruments.  Students can choose to study a general percussion education (snare drum, keyboard percussion, and timpani), or to focus on one or more specific areas, including:

  • snare drum

  • keyboard percussion (marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, etc.)

  • timpani (when available, I do not own a set in my studio)

  • drum-set

  • orchestral repertoire

As students develop through their studies, they are welcome, and encouraged, to continually re-evaluate their goals and interests in music and to refine their course of study with me to better prepare themselves to reach their goals.

Testimonials

Jeremy is a phenomenal teacher and performer! He knows how to convey his musical thoughts clearly, as well as guide you to making your own. He is a wonderful human being that makes you want to try your hardest and he will lead you to success.

We are very thankful and fortunate to have connected with Jeremy at the precise time my son needed. Jeremy is very knowledgeable and was able to direct and teach in areas that my son needed along with "fine tuning"  areas he was more proficient. My son truly enjoyed having percussion lessons each week (which made practicing easier) and has become a much more confident and well rounded percussionist.
